This is a custom build and we are purchasing it in the end.

Unless it is being sold to you as a “Model Home”, he can still use it as such until you close on the house. If it is not a model home, he has not right to do so without any written agreement from you.

we are going to purchase a new home in this one subdivision, HOWEVER, we need to pick out a LOT and dont know the first thing about doing that. Can some please give me some advice as to how to do this…THANKS…Tony

I picked the highest and most level lot in my development. I know that this isnt alway possile but you have to look at alot of things such as slope , drainage… view etc.

I am working elsewhere now and am not ready to give that job up so want to look to do it on the side for now anyways. Also I have no experience building houses. Finally know anyone who has done what I’m looking to do, and have any related feedback?

I would suggest that you build yourself a little cabin first, or work for a building contractor, or join up and be part of a crew that builds a house. It involves carrying and holding boards, nailing things, climbing on roofs, etc. You can also be a part of the volunteer city projects that build houses for people who can’t afford to buy a house on their own. Read the books, any books for ideas. Maybe get the book on the contractor’s exam. Although there are reasons why things are built a certain way (so learn to read blueprints), doing it yourself is the way to learn. You can start by building a shead, then a garage, then a small building, then a house. But, I suggest that when you do decide to build a house that you build it small enough to rent out, and large enough for you to go back to if need be.

How long does it take to receive the ratified contract on a home?

Question by Nicole: How long does it take to receive the ratified contract on a home?
I am waiting on the ratified contract for a bank-owned foreclosed home and i heard it usually take 48 hours but every other day I was getting emails from my real estate agent that they needed me to sign these addendums. So I got that all out of way finally and my RE agent emailed me saying the bank/asset manger sent the contract to the attorney. What is the purpose of this? How much longer does this usually take?

After you signed the bank addendums you should have your copy within 48 hours.
